چکیده
Slow dynamics of energy transfer between different phonon modes under the resonance conditions is considered. It may result in new effects in the inelastic and quasielastic neutron scattering spectra.

Advanced Post-Processing Techniques of Molecular Dynamics Simulations in Studying Strong Anharmonic Thermodynamics of Solids
While the vibrational thermodynamics of materials with small anharmonicity at low temperatures has been understood well based on the harmonic phonons approximation; at high temperatures, this understanding must accommodate how phonons interact with other phonons or with other excitations. We shall see that the phonon-phonon interactions give rise to interesting couplingproblems, and essentially...
متن کاملA quantum crystal with multidimensional anharmonic oscillators
The quantum anharmonic crystal is made of a large number of multi-dimensional anharmonic oscillators arranged in a periodic spatial lattice with a nearest neighbor coupling. If the coupling coefficient is sufficiently small, then there is a convergent expansion for the ground state of the crystal. The estimates on the convergence are independent of the size of the crystal. The proof uses the pa...
متن کاملSoliton-Mediated Electron Transfer and Electric Transport Arising from Coupling Electron Quantum Mechanics to Nonlinear Elasticity in Anharmonic Crystal Lattices
After recalling features of solitons in the Toda (more precisely an adapted Morse-Toda) lattice a succint discussion is provided about the stability of such solitons when the lattice is heated up to physiological temperatures for values of parameters typical of bio-macro-molecules. Then the discussion is focused on the soliton trapping of an added excess (originally free) electron thus creating...
متن کاملEnergy Current Correlations For Weakly Anharmonic Lattices
A solid transports energy. Besides the mobile electrons, one important mechanism for energy transport are the vibrations of the crystal lattice. There is no difficulty in writing down the appropriate lattice dynamics. To extract from it the thermal conductivity remains a fairly untractable problem. The most successful approach exploits that even rather close to the melting temperature the typic...
متن کاملEffect of interlayer interactions and lattice distortions on the magnetic ground state and spin dynamics of a geometrically frustrated triangular-lattice antiferromagnet
We investigate the effects of interlayer interactions and lattice distortions on the noncollinear ground state and spin dynamics of a geometrically frustrated triangular-lattice antiferromagnet with implications for the multiferroic phase of doped CuFeO2, where both lattice distortions and anisotropy introduce anharmonic components into the spin ground state. In contrast to the single turn angl...
